For Doctors

Not all biopsies are created equal: A woman’s plan for surgery changed because of a second opinion, updated test technique and a thorough diagnosis by an Expert Thyroidologist.

After a nodule was felt by her general physician, a 45 year old woman had an ultrasound done by a radiologist revealing more nodules.  A biopsy yeilded suspicious results, but she refused recommended surgery until she had an outside opinion that she was willing to pay for out of pocket. A second biopsy was even less helpful and she was facing increasing pressure for surgery from her medial team. Finally, she heard about molecular classifiers that could tell if a suspicious biopsy was benign she decided to seek the advice of an expert thyroidologist.
